Job Cost Integration
- Chris Johnstone
The pro version of 4Hire integrates with the Job Cost module of MYOB Exo Business. This allows you to create jobs from within 4Hire, view the status of jobs created for a particular contract and (if installed), use Serviceable Units on Jobs.
To enable this functionality within 4Hire, you will need to set the global setting “EnableJobCost” to “TRUE”. This will add an extra button to the contract details screen, and another option to the right-click context menu for items on a contract. This will allow the user to create a new job for a contract, or even for a hire item.
The create job screen will be familiar to current users of the Job Cost module. This creates a new job, and links it to the contract it was created from by entering the Contract Id in a hidden field in the Job Cost header. Once a job has been created for a contract, a new tab will appear in the contract details screen titled “Jobs”. This tab shows a list of all the jobs created for the contract and their respective statuses.
Serviceable Units
If the Serviceable Units module is installed, when a job is created on a serial tracked hire item, 4Hire will search through all of the serviceable units for a matching serial number, and if found, attach that unit to the job.
If a search of the current serviceable units does not find a match, a new serviceable unit will be created automatically and attached to the job (this serviceable unit will then be matched on any future jobs on the same serial tracked item).
4Hire also installs a trigger on the Exo database that will automatically create serviceable units when serial tracked items are transferred into a hire Stock Location.
